Stretching for Self-Compassion is a movement based stretching class that incorporates basic stretches with self-discovery questions around self-compassion. As we wake up our bodies or quiet them for the evening, we work on being grateful for our hands, feet, legs etc. and acknowledge what they do for us every day and why we need to honour and take care of them.

Movement is used as a metaphor as we talk about the 3 key parts of self compassion – mindfulness, common humanity and self-kindness. Students should leave the end of class feeling more flexible, strong and more aware of how they speak to themselves throughout the day.

Self-compassion doesn’t come naturally everyday – we need to stretch and reach for it!
It is meant to be a gentle and relaxing class for any fitness level.

WHAT YOU NEED:

Wear comfortable clothes and bring along a mat or towel to lie on and a cushion or pillow (if you can).

IN THIS CLASS YOU WILL:

1) Stretch your body to feel more flexible and relaxed while developing a positive mindset.

2) Work on body image/self-love by focusing on our words and thoughts as we warm up different parts of the body – hands, feet, arms and legs.

3) Learn the 3 key parts of self-compassion and how to build self-compassion into a regular part of what we do every day.
